5 Things I’ve Been Loving Lately (February ’17)

Sims 4 MacBook

Good Things skincare

At the beginning of the year I suffered with terrible breakouts. I eventually narrowed this down to be the change of contraceptive pill. But, at the time I researched into skincare for oily skin and came across Good Things. Their deep cleansing range has since become a staple product for me. I noticed within a week a huge difference to my skin and particularly love their Pore-fectly Clear range.

The Sims 4

I’m a true introvert deep down and love nothing more than a weekend of no plans. Throughout January these became the norm as I tried to spend less. I actually got to the point where I was a little bit of a loss of what to do. That was until I re-downloaded The Sims 4. I’ve been a Sims fan since its release 17 years ago, with many days throughout those years lost playing The Sims, The Sims 2 and The Sims 3. But when The Sims 4 was released I found it to be a step backwards, and that alongside life taking over I didn’t really touch it again until now. Fast forward 2 years and with many patch updates, expansion, game and stuff packs on offer, The Sims 4 has easily grown into its own.

Gym classes

Having no wedding commitments has let me get back to a proper gym routine. I’m trying to hit the gym 4 times a week, with Spin, and Les Mills’ Body Combat, Body Pump and Body Attack being my go to’s. I’m 100% more a class over the gym kinda girl. Put me in the gym on my own and I get bored/distracted/lazy.

New Homeware

In January I went a bit spend-happy and treated the home to some new bits. We’ve had two wedding pictures blown into two canvases, shelves put up so I can finally put some pictures in frames on display, and new cushions on a red/orange/beige theme for our living room. I found that our living space was still looking pretty bland, and wanted to inject some colour into it.  All this along with a new duck egg colour theme in the kitchen/diner has really made a difference, and making the house look so cosy and homely. We also invested in a Tassimo with Christmas money. I’m now questioning what we did before it! I’m not a hot drinks person, but I love a hot chocolate – a Cadburys hot chocolate has easily become part of my evening routine.

Slimming World

I’ve taken the plunge and re-joined Slimming World, despite my view that fad diets are not the answer. I’m currently the heaviest I’ve ever been; since the wedding in November I’ve easily put a stone on, and got to the point where I was just eating for the sake of it. I need control back in my life, and I believe Slimming World is the answer for me. I’m only on week 1 but I’m already appreciating how I’m actually thinking about food and considering what I’m eating. Lets just hope I see results.

Yay for getting skincare under control! I’ve struggled with skin bother since I was a teen and man, skincare routines are hard to get into haha.
Good luck with Slimming World too! I am also the heaviest I’ve ever been but because I’m not over a certain size people say I look fine etc. But I know the size I usually am and am completely uncomfortable just now. Blurgh. Hope it’s going well for you! 🙂

Ooh the Good Things range sounds good! I had a similar issue at the beginning of the year but I wasn’t sure if it was the weather as I struggle with dry skins which can cause breakouts so I think I need to invest in some proper new skincare products too! The duck egg colour theme in your kitchen/diner sounds lovely too, that’s one of my favourite colours. There’s nothing like giving a room a new look and feel to it to make a big difference. Lots of lovely happy things here! – Tasha

I like the sound of Good Things. I’ll have to check them out.
I used to love the Sims. The Sims 2 was my game , but haven’t got back into it I’m too addicted to my Covet Fashion app to have time for another game .
Homeware… One of my favourite things to browse and dream about. I enjoyed buying homeware when I was in my own flat at uni, but finding room for it now I’m back home is a nightmare haha. I look forward to having my own space again to decorate .

I’ve not played Sims since I was a kid, everyone seems to play it but i’m not sure my computer could handle it to be honest! My mum’s got a tassimo but I actually prefer making a hot chocolate the old fashioned way using Cadburys Highlights to using the machine!
