Last week I was kindly invited to the launch night of the new Novello Lounge located in Southwater, Telford. Southwater is a new development in Telford, dedicated to key chain restaurants such as Bella Italia, Pizza Express, Nandos among many others, situated in the perfect location right in the middle of town with a new Cineworld cinema, library and bowling alley, just outside the shopping centre with the town park and ice rink within close walking distance. It’s the perfect place to go for a nice meal, but it’s had one thing missing since opening just over a year ago – a good bar.

september

I love September. I love the gradual wave goodbye to the summer, and the warm welcome to autumn. Autumn is easily my favourite time of year; getting the boots out, socks on, wrapping up in knits, sipping a hot chocolate, the colours of the leaves changing, bonfire night, Christmas only in the distant future. It’s the best time of year, easily.

I know we’re already half way through the month, but I want to get back to sharing some monthly goals with you – something to get me to keep some focus. And over the next couple of months I want these to be un-wedding related. My whole life is a wedding whirlwind right now, so I want to set some goals that are separate to this, something that I can focus on to keep me sane over the next month.

Wedding planning has come on leaps and bounds following my last wedding update. I have my first dress fitting on the 1st October, bridesmaid dresses are sorted / having fittings, suits are organised, photographer booked, cake booked, florist booked, venue details being finalised, rings bought, transport booked. All the big stuff is done. So now I’m in the exciting cute bit, of deciding exactly how I want the venue to look. Yes, it’s decoration time, and this has most definitely been one of my favourite parts of wedding planning so far (apart from the cake tasting and finding my dream dress, obvs).

As an attempt to try to blog more and share this wedding planning with you – which I always had planned to do but literally every time I sit down in front of my laptop hours are lost on eBay, Amazon and the like, looking at bunting that, realistically looks exactly the same, but who knew a little bit of added lace to hessian could make such a difference, or searching for the perfect white lanterns/birdcages that would look oh so cute as centrepieces – I figured I would do a good old wishlist. A wishlist of those cute bits that I so want to buy, but currently that money sat in our account is most definitely assigned to paying the suit people, the photographer, adding those extra drinks on at the venue, being able to get home at the end of the night in style and so on. So until we have that spare money, a wishlist will have to do!

WeddingPlanning

In case you missed it, we got engaged in May! And then crazily (this is typical Aaron & I) we decided to book our wedding for November of this year. Since then life has pretty much been a non-stop whirlwind of wedding planning, but now as it’s gradually starting to slow up I finally have some spare time in front of my laptop that isn’t looking for florists, wedding cake suppliers, bridesmaid dresses, suit options, centrepiece ideas, decoration ideas, favours, and the like. So yes, it’s time for me to start sharing some of the planning with you, and how I’ve approached it. And if you’re newly engaged (or just in love with weddings as I was before Aaron popped the question), hopefully this post will give you some pointers and assure you that, really, it isn’t that stressful. Or at least it doesn’t have to be.

IMG_4026Yesterday I finally made my way down to London with a group of friends to visit the Warner Bros Studio Tour, The Making of Harry Potter. Something that’s on my 30 before 30 list, and something I’ve wanted to do since the tour started. Harry Potter has been in my life ever since my godmother bought me The Philosopher’s Stone book for my 10th birthday; since then I was hooked, making my way through all the books during my early teens, watching the films as soon as they came at the cinema. Seeing the sets, all the props, and how it actually all came together was a truly magical and emotional day.
